The morning will be spent in the forests to the east of Melbourne such as the Dandenong Ranges NP, the Yarra Ranges NP, Bunyip State Park.
Take a full day to explore the Eastern suburbs of Melbourne and the foothills of the Great Dividing range.
Spend a day visiting the mallee and box-ironbark woodlands on the inland side of the ranges where the bird species are very different to the cooler, wetter, southern Victorian region.
